Do your arts and crafts creations seem to lack something that you are looking to bring them to the next level? Look no further.Glowing printer ink is a great way to add some pizazz to greeting cards, informational newsletters, decorations for a party or the holidays, signs, or even t shirts. The only limitation is your own creativity, and the best thing about glowing ink is that you don’t need to buy special paper to make it work.Just use whatever there is lying around.
There are plenty of manufacturers that sell this ink, but if you want to further explore your own craftiness, try making the ink yourself.
Before you can make the glowing ink, you need the materials, and this will require a few different shopping stops. You will need glow in the dark powder, which can be found at an arts and crafts store of the crafts section of a department store or retailer. Now, you need to get your hands on an ink refilling kit. If you don’t, you can pick one up at an office supply store or online. Be sure that this kit is compatible with your printer. Finally, you’ll need a syringe so that you can transfer the ink back-and-forth between the cartridge and your mixing bowl.
When you’ve assembled the necessary materials, you need to mix a quarter-teaspoon of the glow in the dark powder with 3 teaspoons of the printer ink (microwave safe bowl). To dissolve the powder, run in the microwave for about 30 seconds and stir until the powder has been totally assimilated.Allow the ink mixture to cool off. Use the syringe to pick up all the ink mixture and transfer it back into your empty ink cartridge.Insert the syringe into the ink cartridge’s refill holes, which may be located with the ink refill kit’s instructions. Before attempting any printing, you should use your printer’s clean cycle. Once printed, the ink will also need to charge a few minutes in the light in order to glow well.
That’s it! Who knew a printer ink cartridge endeavor could be so fun? You can now unleash your creativity and make your projects really stand out.Halloween costumes, while certainly the most common usage of these inks, are not the only thing they are good for, since they could also be used for interesting home decor in the evening. You can add the glow in the dark powder to several different colors if you like.Just enjoy yourself, let your imagination flow, and prepare for the amazed comments from your friends when they admire your handiwork!
